While 2020 has different memories for everyone, it turns out we will have a big memory to add to it! As of April 24, 2020 My husband Les and I are the new owners of the White Owl Store! This building was built in 1904 survived the White Owl Fire in 1912 and has been through several owners along the way.
We are excited to keep 57792 on the map and we will be open for business as usual. We look forward to many updates along the way. There is something about keeping this history alive and getting the opportunity to be a part of it is an honor.
It has been a dream of mine for many many years to own this building and revive it. I love all things old and vintage and I hope to do this building justice. I plan on keeping a little blog going along this journey so you can keep up with the transformations.
The first thing on the list was to cut out a tree that has been causing issues in the foundation. So we went to work cutting and trimming out this tree and a few that were in the power lines.
The second day I went to mowing. It looks so much better! Amazing what a little TLC will do and four hours of mowing!
Sometimes the list is so long and we don't know where to start. You just have to start somewhere it doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to get started.
We are excited to move White Owl Creek Boutique along with the salon to this location. We are thankful to have a Post Office and we plan on keeping that busy with our online sales!
If you are driving by White Owl on Highway 34, stop in and say Hi! If you see us out there working, feel free to stop in and see our progress. We will be keeping you updated on this beauty right here. If you know of any pictures of this in the past, I would love to have copies made. If there are pictures of the original inside, I would love to see those too. If you have a story, know historical facts, let us know that too!
