Life on the Creek..........
White Owl Creek runs directly behind my boutique here on our ranch in White Owl SD. This is how I came up with the name White Owl Creek Boutique. I admit it is a mouth full but I still love it. White Owl is located on the prairies of South Dakota on Highway 34 between Sturgis and Pierre. You may have heard of both of these locations, Sturgis for the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally and Pierre is our state capital. A tiny dot on the map. I ship my packages from the White Owl Post Office and love supporting it.
It is a busy time of year around this area. Like our traditional seasons of spring, summer, fall and winter, ranchers have their own seasons. Calving season, Branding Season, Haying Season and Weaning/Feeding Season. In between seasons, smaller seasons take place. Often I think of the verse for everything there is a season.....

Everything Has Its Time
3 To everything, there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;

And a time to refrain from embracing;

Yep, that pretty much sums up a Ranchers Life!
So we are in the tail end of our Branding Season and getting ready to put out pairs to summer pasture. The girls are finishing up the end of the year school activities and finals and the days are going by quicker than I can get things done. I have always loved a new season....as I get older I realize how fast they go by.
No matter what season you are in right now.....Don't forget to stop and take a moment to enjoy the season you are in. Sometimes we get caught up in what is next and forget to live in the one we are in.

The Sunrise....this was taken about 5:15 am on Saturday, May 13th, the day we branded on the Shaw Ranch. 
The Prairie...... 
I was helping round up the cows and calves for the day ahead. I always take my camera because you just never know when God will stop you in your tracks to remind you he is there.
Then the Apple Blossoms....
The apple trees in my yard, they were gorgeous this year! They really need no explanation!
The Lilac and the Butterfly.....This could be a blog all of its own! We may not be perfect but....God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
